As the countryside around Gilling East begins to wake up for spring, our kitchen team at The Fairfax Arms has introduced a fresh new seasonal menu packed with comforting favourites and lighter dishes perfect for the months ahead.
To start, guests can enjoy options such as homemade soup of the day with focaccia, sweetcorn risotto with salsa verde, or haddock ceviche marinated with chilli, lime and herbs.
Our popular pub classics remain at the heart of the menu, including the famous homemade steak and ale pie, hand battered haddock and chips, and our signature burgers served with hand cut chips or fries.
Alongside these favourites, the kitchen has added several seasonal dishes including pan roasted chicken supreme, pan fried sea bream with Jersey Royals and asparagus, and pan roasted lamb rump with mint couscous.
If you are just stopping by for a drink, our smaller plates such as wild garlic hummus, mini Yorkshire puddings with gravy and battered gherkins are perfect for sharing.
As always, we use high quality local produce wherever possible, including meat from Thorntons of Easingwold and vegetables from Think Fresh of Helmsley.
Our spring menu is now being served and we recommend booking ahead, especially at weekends.
