Yesterday, we had a brilliant visit at The Fairfax Arms as Greg James passed through Gilling East during his Comic Relief challenge.
Greg is currently taking on Radio 1’s ‘Longest Ride’ for Comic Relief, cycling an incredible 1,000km from Weymouth to Edinburgh over eight days to raise money for Red Nose Day.
As part of the Yorkshire leg of his journey, Greg rode through Helmsley, Great Broughton and Gilling East, where we were lucky enough to be one of his stop-offs. The village had a great buzz about it, with plenty of people coming out to show their support as he passed through.
It was a quick stop for Greg to refuel and reset before getting back on the bike, but one that brought a fantastic atmosphere to the pub and the local area.
We’re proud to have played a small part in such an important challenge and to support the incredible work Comic Relief does across the UK and beyond.
