Each room is thoughtfully designed with rustic touches and modern comforts, including en-suite bathrooms, Smart TVs with Freeview, and plush furnishings. You’ll also find Yorkshire tea, Taylors of Harrogate fruit and herbal teas, Harrogate Spa water, Velve toiletries, and homemade Fairfax chocolates crafted locally by Autism Plus in Easingwold.
We have two spacious courtyard family rooms and a superior suite with a Jacuzzi bath, perfect for a little extra indulgence. There’s also a deluxe double above the back kitchen, ideal for those seeking a superior double option. The courtyard rooms are dog friendly, making them ideal for guests bringing four-legged friends, while our inside rooms are reserved for those travelling without pets.

Dog-Friendly Stays
We know that Yorkshire adventures are best shared with four-legged friends, which is why we offer four dedicated dog-friendly rooms: Rooms 9 (Selby), 10 (Whitby), 11 (Ampleforth), and 12 (York). These courtyard rooms are perfect for guests travelling with dogs, offering easy access and a warm welcome for both you and your pup.
Dogs are welcome in our bar-lounge and dining room, just not in the Orangery. For £10 per night, your dog can enjoy a stay as cosy as yours, complete with beautiful countryside right on the doorstep.
Gilling East is surrounded by incredible walks, from peaceful trails through Yearsley Woods to longer routes across the North York Moors. Whether you’re after a gentle stroll to Holy Cross Church or a day out exploring Castle Howard or Byland Abbey, there’s something for every pace and our team are always happy to recommend the best routes.
Please note: our inside rooms are not dog friendly, so if you’re travelling without pets, you’ll find those rooms offer a peaceful, pet-free space to relax.
