Gilling East is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, and is conveniently situated on the main B1363 road between York and Helmsley.
The village lies in the picturesque Howardian Hills just to the south of the North York Moors National Park and close to Ampleforth Abbey and College. The village is situated around two miles to the south of Oswaldkirk and and 5 miles south of Helmsley.
